Finding elements in the inventory

File/Inventory Manager lets you find devices and elements in the network inventory.

To find a device or element in the inventory:

1. On the File/Inventory Manager toolbar, click Find.

Or, from the menu bar, choose Edit > Find.

The Find dialog box opens

2. In the Find text box, type the text or number for your search.
3. In the In section, click the Tree option to search the navigation pane, or click the Table option to search the contents pane.
4. In the From section choose whether you want to start the search from the current selection, or from the start of the table or tree.
5. Click Next.

File/Inventory Manager starts its search and highlights the first match it finds.

File/Inventory Manager searches tables starting from either the selected cell or from the upper left cell. It searches all the cells in a column before going to the next column to the right.

6. If a first match was found, click Next to find each subsequent match, or click Previous to go back to your last match.
