Editing Passport configuration files

File/Inventory Manager lets you browse Passport configuration files and edit them with a text editor.

Note: BayStack configuration files are stored in a proprietary binary format that you cannot edit using a text editor.

To open a Passport configuration file for editing:

1. From the File/Inventory Manager menu bar, choose Actions > Edit File.

An open file dialog box opens.

2. Browse to the configuration file you want to edit, and click Open.

File/Inventory Manager opens the configuration file in a text editor:

• On a Windows machine, the file opens in Wordpad
• On a UNIX machine, the file opens in vi.
