Configuring ATM F5-OAM End-to-End Loopback parameters
A Passport 8672ATM module, by default, replies to ATM F5-OAM Loopback requests received. However, the transmission of F5-OAM Loopback requests and the processing of F5-OAM Loopback replies received require enabling this feature on a PVC by PVC basis. It is recommended that you enable ATM F5-OAM on all the PVCs configured on the PP8672 ATM port in order for upper layer protocols such as MLT and OSPF to be immediately aware of the port down status or link failures.
To enable and define the parameters of the ATM F5-OAM Loopback feature in Device Manager:
- From the Device Manager menu bar choose Edit>ATM.

- Highlight a PVC.
- Click F5 Loopback.
