Configuring Syslog Host
To configure a syslog host on a Passport 8100 module:
From the Device Manager menu bar, choose Edit > Diagnostics > System Log Table.
The Diagnostics dialog box opens with the System Log Table tab displayed.
In the Diagnostics dialog box, click Insert.
The Diagnostics, Insert System Log Table dialog box opens.
Type the syslog host ID (1 to 10).
Type the IP address of the syslog host.
Type the UDP port on which to send syslog messages to the syslog host (UDP ports 514 to 530; 514 is the default).
Select the syslog UNIX system facility that receives and dispatches syslog messages (LOCAL0 to LOCAL7; LOCAL7 is the default).
Select the internal switch severity levels for which to send syslog messages.
Select the informational severity levels to a syslog message severity level.
Select the warning severity levels to a syslog message severity level.
Select the error severity levels to a syslog message severity level.
Select the fatal severity levels to a syslog message severity level.
Select Enable (optional).
Click Insert.
