Forwarding tab items


Item Description
Status
Values include:
  • self--one of the bridge's addresses
  • learned--a learned entry that is being used
  • mgmt--a static entry
MacAddress
A unicast MAC address for which the bridge has forwarding and/or filtering information.
Port
Either a value of zero (0) or the port number of the port on which a frame having the specified MAC address has been seen. A value of 0 indicates a self-assigned MAC address.
Monitor
Select true or false to copy packets with MAC address in source or destination field. Used with port mirroring.
Priority
Priority level. If true, frames in the VLAN are forwarded through the switch fabric with high priority.
If false, frames in the VLAN are forwarded through the switch fabric with normal priority.

  1. In a selected MAC address row, click in the Priority column and select high or low from the list.
  2. Click Apply.

To set the priority for a static entry:

  1. From the Device Manager window menu bar, choose VLAN > VLANs.
  2. The VLAN dialog box opens with the Basic tab displayed.
  3. In the VLAN dialog box, select a VLAN.
  4. Click Bridge.
  5. The Bridge, VLAN dialog box opens with the Transparent tab displayed.
  6. Click the Static tab.
  7. The Static tab opens.

  8. In the Static tab, click Insert.
  9. The Bridge, VLAN Insert Static dialog box opens.
