Modifying and managing existing VLANs

The main dialog box for managing VLANs in Device Manager is the Edit VLAN dialog box accessed by choosing VLAN > VLANs from the main menu. The tabs in this dialog box are Basic, Advanced, and Snoop.


Note Note: After a VLAN is created, you cannot change the type of VLAN. You must delete the VLAN and create a new VLAN of the chosen type.

To edit the ports in a VLAN:

  1. From the Device Manager menu bar, choose VLAN > VLANs.
    2. The VLAN dialog box opens with the Basic tab displayed.
  2. Double-click the PortMembers, StaticMembers, or NotAllowToJoin fields in the VLAN table.
    3. The respective dialog box opens.
  3. In the dialog box, select available ports for the VLAN. Ports that are already part of the VLAN appear as depressed buttons.

Any changes made to the ports take effect immediately.
