Viewing your network's IPX services

You can view the IPX services available on the network. This information is also displayed in the Destination Service tab and the Static Service tab, with different sort conditions.

To view the IPX services:


From the Device Manager menu bar, choose IPX Routing > IPX > Services.


The IPX dialog box opens with the Service tab displayed.

The table below defines the Services tab fields.


Field Description
Type
Type of service provided (in hex).
Name
The name of the service (48 byte field).
Protocol
The protocol through which this service was learned (RIP or static). This field is a display field only.
NetNum
The IPX network number where this service is available.
Node

The 6-byte node address. The node and netnum fields correspond to the IPXhost parameter in the CLI.
Note: The NetNum and Node make up the IPX host address where the service is available.
Socket
The socket address of the service (in hex).
HopCount
The number of intermediate networks that must be passed through to reach the server.
