Forwarding tab

Use the Forwarding tab to define the destination addresses for the UDP protocol.

To define the destination address:

  1. From the Device Manager window menu bar, choose IP Routing > UDP Forwarding.
  2. The UDP Forwarding dialog box opens with the Protocol tab displayed.
  3. Click Forwarding.
  4. The Forwarding tab opens.
  5. Click Insert.
  6. The UDP_Forwarding, Insert Forwarding dialog box opens.

The table below describes the items in the UDP_Forwarding, Insert Forwarding dialog box and Forwarding tab.


Item Description 
DestPort
The well-known port number defined for UDP, depending upon the protocol type.
DestAddr
The destination address can be any IP server address for the given protocol application or the IP address of an interface on the router.
  • If the address is that of a server, the packet is sent as a unicast packet to this address.
  • If the address is that of an interface on the router, the frame is rebroadcast.
Id
(Forwarding tab only)

Integer used to identify this entry internally.
FwdListIdListSize
(Forwarding tab only)

The number of IDs in the forward list (0 to 16).
FwdListIdList
(Forwarding tab only)

The zero or more list entries that refer to this entry. Each list ID identifier is stored as 2 bytes in this array, starting from 0 bytes (size=16).
NumFwdPackets
(Forwarding tab only)

The total number of UDP broadcast packets forwarded using this policy.
NumDropPacketsTtlExpired
(Forwarding tab only)

The total number of UDP broadcast packets dropped because the time to live (TTL) has expired.
NumDropPacketsDestUnreach
(Forwarding tab only)

The total number of UDP broadcast packets dropped because the specified destination address was unreachable.

  1. Add or select a destination UDP port from the defined protocols.
  2. Enter a destination IP address, and click Insert.
  3. The information is added to the Forwarding tab.
