StaticRoute tab

The StaticRoute tab shows the current static routes. From this tab, you can configure a static route on each logical IPX interface. In the Metric, Preference, and Enable boxes, type or select your route options.

To open the StaticRoute tab:

  1. From the Device Manager menu bar, choose IPX Routing > IPX.
  2. The IPX dialog box opens with the Global tab displayed.
  3. Click the StaticRoute tab.
  4. The StaticRoute tab Opens.

The table below describes the StaticRoute tab items.


Item Description
CircIndex
The IPX circuit index number that corresponds to the next-hop network number.
NetNum
The IPX network number of the destination network. To create a default route, use the value FF:FF:FF:FE.
Ticks
The number of ticks allowed to reach the destination network. A tick is 1/18th of a second.
HopCount
The number of hops (passes through a router) allowed to reach the destination window (1 to15).
NextHopNICAddress
(Insert dialog box only)
The next hop node address.

To add a static route:

  1. Click Insert.
  2. The Insert StaticRoute dialog box for creating a static route opens.
  3. In the CircIndex text box, type the next hop IPX circuit index number.
  4. In the NetNum text box, type the destination IPX network number.
  5. In the Ticks text box, type the number of ticks.
  6. In the HopCount text box, type the number of hops.
  7. In the NextHopNICAddress text box, type the MAC address of the next hop IPX node.
  8. Click Insert.
