Using Multi-Link Trunking Manager
Introduction
What is a Multi-Link Trunk (MLT)?
A Multi-Link Trunk can be described as an aggregated links between
two topology adjacent nodes. A trunk provides more bandwidth for traffic
between two ends of links. Traffic destinated to a trunk can be forwarded
through any link in the trunk.
Two levels approach for configuration of MLT.
When configure a MLT, either work on single device only or on a pair of
devices which have links in between. It is recommended to configure a
MLT in the context of two adjecent devices.
Single device configuration
Configuring a MLT on single device only considers the factor of ports availability.
Neighboring devices configuration
Configuring a MLT on a pair of devices considers these factors.
-
ports availability.
-
Links between two nodes.
-
Consistency of port links in a trunk.
