Statistics

You can use Device Manager to gather and graph Ethernet statistics in a variety of formats, or you can save them to a file and export them into an outside presentation or graphing application.

Note Note: This implementation of RMON requires a "control" row for Ethernet statistics. This control row appears as "port" 0/1 when you choose RMON > History > Ether Stats Control. The row ID is reserved for the control row. Therefore, some automated tests, such as ANVL, may fail when the test attempts to create a row 1.

To enable RMON statistics on a port basis:

To verify that RMON statistics are enabled:

From the Device Manager menu bar, choose RMON > Control > Ether Stats.

The Ether Stats Control dialog box opens. Note that the default owner displayed is the host name on which Device Manager is running.

To enable RMON statistics on all ports

  1. From the Device Manager menu bar, choose RMON > RMON Stats on All Ports.
  2. Click Enable.
  3. If RMON has not yet been globally enabled, Device Manager notifies and prompts you to enable RMON globally.
