Using Device Manager dialog boxes

Many Device Manager dialog boxes contain editable fields that allow you to enter parameter values, and many of the parameters have predetermined possible values. For example, a port may be set to be enabled or disabled. Other parameter values are ranges of user-determined values. For example, the value for a system contact will be a name you enter in the SysContact field.

Editable fields in Device Manager windows are displayed in white. To change the value in a field, click the field. It turns yellow, indicating that you can change the displayed value. For parameters that have a predetermined set of possible values, you can click again, and a down arrow is displayed. When you click the down arrow, the possible choices for that parameter are displayed (Figure 7). To select a value, click it in the drop-down list.

For fields that do not have preset values, click the field and type the value.
