Enabling RIP globally

In the Passport 1600 Series Layer 3 routing switch, the RIP global parameters are used by all router interfaces using RIP.

To enable RIP globally:

  1. From the Device Manager main menu, choose IP Routing > RIP.
    2. The RIP dialog box opens with the Globals tab displayed.
  2. In the RIPState check box, select enable box.

    Note Note: You can configure RIP on the interfaces with RIP globally disabled, thus having the flexibility to configure all interfaces before turning on RIP for the switch.

  3. Click Apply.
