Enabling/disabling fragment filtering

The Passport 1600 Series switch has a global parameter that permits or drops fragmented IP packets. Note that unless the IP Fragment field is 0x00 or 0x400, all packets are dropped by the 1600.

To allow or drop fragmented IP packets:

1. From the Device Manager menu bar, choose IP Routing > Filter.

The ACL dialog box opens with the Template Mode tab displayed.

2. Click the Fragment Filter Status tab.

The Fragment Filter Status tab opens.

The table that follows describes the Fragment Filter Status dialog box fields.

3. Select Enable to allow or Disable to drop fragmented IP packets.
4. Click Apply.
