Stub area configuration prerequisites

To configure an OSPF stub area, you must already have completed steps 1 through 6 in, Configuring OSPF in a default area.

To configure an OSPF Stub Area:

  1. Add an OSPF Stub Area 2.
    1. From the Device Manager menu bar, select IP Routing > OSPF > Areas.
      2. The OSPF dialog box opens with the Areas tab displayed.
    2. From the OSPF dialog box, click Insert
      3. The OSPF, Insert Areas dialog box opens.
    3. Enter an AreaId.
    4. Select "importNoExternal".
    5. Click Insert.
  2. Add VLAN 2 and VLAN 3 to Stub Area 2
    1. From the Device Manager menu bar, select IP Routing > OSPF > Interfaces.
      2. The OSPF dialog box opens with the Interfaces tab displayed.
    2. Enter the desired AreaId in the AreaId field for both VLAN 2 and VLAN 3.
    3. Click Apply.
