Configuring RIP using VLANS

To configure RIP with VLANS:

1. Enable RIP globally.
1. From the Device Manager menu bar, select IP Routing > RIP.

The RIP dialog box opens with the Globals tab displayed.

2. Set RIP State to enable.
3. Click Apply.
2. Add VLAN 2
1. From the Device Manager menu bar, select VLAN > VLANs.

The VLAN dialog box opens.

2. From the VLAN dialog box, click Insert

The VLAN, Insert Basic dialog box opens.

3. In the VLAN, Insert Basic dialog box, enter the VLAN Id and Name.
4. Click the PortMembers tab, and select Port Members for the VLAN.
5. Click the UntaggedPorts tab, and select Untagged Ports for the VLAN.
6. Click Insert.
3. Assign an IP address to VLAN 2
1. From the Device Manager menu bar, select IP Routing > IP > Interfaces.

The IP dialog box opens with the Interfaces tab displayed.

2. From the IP dialog box, click Insert

The IP, Insert Interfaces dialog box opens.

3. Select a Vlan Name.
4. Click Insert.
4. Add VLAN 3
1. From the Device Manager menu bar, select VLAN > VLANS.

The VLAN dialog box opens with the Basic tab displayed.

2. In the VLAN dialog box, click Insert

The VLAN, Insert Basic dialog box opens.

3. In the VLAN, Insert Basic dialog box, enter values for Id, Name, PortMembers, and UntaggedPorts.
4. Click Insert.
5. Assign an IP address to VLAN 3.
1. From the Device Manager menu bar, select IP Routing > IP > Interfaces.

The IP dialog box opens with the Interfaces tab displayed.

2. From the IP dialog box, click Insert

The IP, Insert Interfaces dialog box opens.

3. Select a Vlan Name.
4. Click Insert.
6. Enable RIP on VLAN 2 and VLAN 3
1. From the Device Manager menu bar, select IP Routing > RIP > Interfaces.

The RIP dialog box opens with the Interfaces tab displayed.

2. Set the Status field to enable.

Choose the row with the IP address that was used when adding VLAN 2 and VLAN 3.
