Creating an MLT flooding port
The Passport 1600 Series switch supports up to 7 MLT groups with up to 4 ports per group. Each MLT group has a flooding port which is used to flood packets with unknown MAC destinations.
This example shows you how to create MLT group 1 with ports 1/27 and 1/28.
The figure that follows shows MLT group 1 containing ports 27 and 28 with port 27 as the flooding port.
To create MLT group 1:
- From the Device Manager menu bar, choose VLAN > MLT.

- In the Multi Link Trunks tab, click Insert.

- Enter index number 1.
- Specify the master port by clicking the MasterPort ellipsis button.

- Select the trunk master port 27.
| This port will appear depressed. |
- Specify the member ports by clicking the Member ellipsis button.

- Select trunk member ports 1/27 and 1/28.
| These ports will appear depressed. |
- Set the State to enabled.
- On the MLT, Insert Multi Link Trunks dialog box, click Insert.
- Click Close to return to the main Device Manager window.
