Creating port-based VLANs

This example shows you how to create two new port-based VLANs with the following characteristics :

The figure that follows illustrates these characteristics.

To configure these VLANs:

  1. From the Device Manager menu bar, choose VLAN > VLANs.
  2. The VLANs dialog box opens with the Basic tab displayed

  3. Click Insert.
  4. The VLAN, Insert Basic dialog box opens.
  5. Add VLAN 10 as follows:
    1. Enter 10 in the Id field and VLAN-10 in the Name field
    2. Click on the PortMembers ellipsis button.
    3. The dot1QVlanStaticEgressPorts dialog box opens.
    4. Click on ports 10, 11, 12, and 49
    5. Click on the UntaggedPorts ellipsis button.
    6. The dot1QVlanStaticUntaggedPorts dialog box opens.
    7. Click on ports 10, 11, and 12
  6. Add VLAN 12 as follows:
    1. Enter 12 in the Id field and VLAN-12 in the Name field.
    2. Click on the PortMembers ellipsis button.
    3. The dot1QVlanStaticEgressPorts dialog box opens.
    4. Click on ports 13, 14, and 49.
    5. Click on the UntaggedPorts ellipsis button.
    6. The dot1QVlanStaticUntaggedPorts dialog box opens.
    7. Click on ports 13 and 14.
  7. Save your configuration
  8. At this point, the VLAN dialog box, Basic tab appears.
