Creating egress queue weights

The Passport 1600 Series switch contains 4 hardware priority queues. Three of these queues use DWRR, while the fourth uses SP. Incoming packets are mapped to one of these four queues.

This example explains how to configure egress queue weights. Specifically, it involves prioritizing traffic on egress port 39.

The table and figure that follows illustrates the configuration involved in prioritizing traffic on port 39.

To prioritize traffic on port 39:

  1. From the Device Manager menu bar, choose IP Routing > Filter.
  2. The ACL dialog box opens with the Template Mode tab displayed.
  3. Click the Port Scheduling tab.
  4. The Port Scheduling tab opens.
  5. Enter the following values for port 39:
  6. Click Close to return to the main Device Manager window.
