Configuring the template rule

Once you have configured the template mode and flow classifiers, you need to configure a template rule. When doing so, you need to define which Template ID to use, either l4-switch or qos. Note that the list of selections you have available, depends on how you configured the flow classifiers previously.

To configure the template rule:

  1. From the Device Manager menu bar, choose IP Routing > Filter.
    2. The ACL dialog box opens with the Template Mode tab displayed .
  2. Click the Template Rule tab.
    3. The Template Rule tab opens.
  3. Click Insert.
    4. The ACL, Insert Template Rule tab opens.
  4. Configure the template rule using the l4-switch template as follows:
    1. Click l4-switch in the TemplateId field.
    2. Click tcp, udp, or other depending on how you configured the flow classifier previously.
    3. Click the desired L4ActionType- drop, forward, or redirect.
  5. Configure the template rule using the qos template as follows:
    1. Click qos in the TemplateId field.
    2. Enter the appropriate parameters depending on how you configured the flow classifier previously.
  6. Click Close to return to the main Device Manager window.
