Filtering MAC addresses

You can configure the Passport 1600 Series switch to filter on specific MAC addresses on a per VLAN basis. The example that follows adds a filter that drops MAC address 00:00:00:00:00:0a from VLAN 10. See the graphic to configure filtering for this MAC address.

To filter MAC addresses.

  1. From the Device Manager menu bar, choose IP Routing > Filter.
    2. The ACL dialog box opens with the Template Mode tab displayed.
  2. Click the FDB Filter tab.
    3. The FDB Filter tab opens.
  3. Click Insert.
    4. The ACL, Insert FDB Filter dialog opens
  4. Enter 1 as the Index.
  5. Click the ellipsis button.
    6. The VlanName selection box opens.
  6. Select the appropriate VLAN and then click OK.
  7. Enter the MAC address and then click Insert.
  8. Click Close to return to the main Device Manager window.
