Configuring filtering using Device Manager

You configure filtering on the Passport 1600 Series switch by using the Access Control List (ACL). The ACL is composed of composed of two main parts:

  1. The flow control template
  2. A template is a gate to control the resource (bandwidth) access of the switch. For each template, you must define the profile that specifies which packet fields passing through the template should be examined. The template rules you create then further specify how to examine packets and the actions that apply to the matched packets.
  3. The system architecture (for example, the IP route, the MAC address table etc.)
