Creating IP static routes

Static routes provide a way to create routes to destination IP address prefixes manually.

Static routes provide a way to create routes to destination IP address prefixes manually.

For more information about viewing and managing IP routes, see Networking Concepts for the Passport 1424T Switch.

To create a static IP route:

  1. From the Device Manager menu bar, choose IP Routing > IP.
  2. The IP dialog box opens with the Globals tab displayed.
  3. Click the Static Routes tab.
  4. The Static Routes tab opens.
  5. Click Insert.
  6. The IP, Insert Static Routes dialog box opens.
  7. In the Dest box, type the IP address.
  8. In the Mask box, type the mask.
  9. In the NextHop box, type the IP address of the router through which the specified route is accessible.
  10. In the Metric box, type the metric value.
  11. Click Insert.
  12. The route appears in the routing table.
