Creating IP static routes

To improve the static route management, the IP Static Routing Table Manager feature was implemented, allowing you to change static routes directly. The Static Route table is separate from the System Routing Table, which the router uses to make forwarding decisions. Although the tables are separate, entries in the Static Routing Table Manager will automatically be reflected in the System Routing Table if the next hop address in the static route is reachable and the static route is enabled.

Static routes provide a way to create routes to destination IP address prefixes manually.

For more information about viewing and managing IP static routes, see Configuring IP Routing Operations for the [Model #].
