Interface tab

Use the Interface tab of the Graph Port dialog box to view Interface statistics for the selected port.

The following table describes the parts of the Interface tab.

Part Description
InOctets
Shows the total number of octets received on the interface, including framing characters.
OutOctets
Shows the total number of octets transmitted out of the interface, including framing characters.
InUcastPkts
Shows the number of packets delivered by this sublayer to a higher sublayer that were not addressed to a multicast or broadcast address at this sublayer.
OutUcastPkts
Shows the number of packets that higher-level protocols requested be transmitted that were not addressed to a multicast address at this sublayer. This total number includes those packets discarded or unsent.
InNUcastPkts
Shows the number of packets delivered by this sublayer to a higher (sub)layer, which were addressed to a multicast or broadcast address at this sublayer.
OutNUcastPkts
Shows the total number of packets that higher-level protocols requested be transmitted, and which were addressed to a multicast or
broadcast address at this sublayer, including those that were discarded or not sent.
InDiscards
Shows the number of inbound packets that were chosen to be discarded even though no errors had been detected to prevent their being deliverable to a higher-layer protocol. One possible reason for discarding such a packet could be to free up buffer space.
OutDiscards
Shows the number of outbound packets which were chosen to be discarded even though no errors had been detected to prevent their being transmitted. One possible reason for discarding such a packet could be to free up buffer space.
InErrors
For packet-oriented interfaces, shows the number of inbound packets that contained errors preventing them from being deliverable to a higher-layer protocol. For character-oriented or fixed-length interfaces, the number of inbound transmission units that contained errors preventing them from being deliverable to a higher-layer protocol.
OutErrors
For packet-oriented interfaces, the number of outbound packets that could not be transmitted because of errors. For character-oriented or fixed-length interfaces, the number of outbound transmission units that could not be transmitted because of errors.
InUnknownProtos
For packet-oriented interfaces, shows the number of packets received via the interface that were discarded because of an unknown or unsupported protocol. For character-oriented or fixed-length interfaces that support protocol multiplexing, the number of transmission units received via the interface that were discarded because of an unknown or unsupported protocol. For any interface that does not support protocol multiplexing, this counter will always be 0.
Line Chart
Graphs the data in the selected cells as a line chart.
Area Chart
Graphs the data in the selected cells as an area chart.
Bar Chart
Graphs the data in the selected cells as a bar chart.
Pie Chart
Graphs the data in the selected cells as a pie chart.
Export Data
Saves a table of data as a tab-delimited text file.
Print Table
Prints a table of data.
Clear counter
Clears the statistics counters on the current tab.
Close
Closes the Graph Chassis dialog box.
Help
Opens online Help for the current tab of the Graph Port dialog box.
Poll Interval
Lets you set the interval at which the device is polled for statistics. The available values are None, 2 sec, 5 sec, 10 sec, 30 sec, 1 min, 5 min, 30 min, and 1 hr.
