Configuring policing
Policing is available in the following modes:
- by port--This option is available only on transparent service type ports.
- by all TDs--This option is available only on mapped service type ports.
- by some TDs --This option is available only on mapped service type ports.
- by groups of UNI ports--This option is available only on transparent service type ports.
- by some Class of Service (CoS)
To set, display, and edit policing parameters:
- To set the policing mode, in Device Manager highlight the port you want and choose Edit > Port.

- Click the LAN Ports tab to bring it to the front.
- In the PolicingState field, click the policing mode you want.
- Click Apply.
- To disable policing, highlight the port you want and choose Edit > Port.

- Click the LAN Ports tab to bring it to the front.
- In the PolicingState field, click disabled.
- Click Apply.
- To display the policing parameters, choose Application > OEL2.

- Click the Policing tab to bring it to the front.
- To set or modify policing parameters, highlight the row you want to edit on the Policing tab.
- Click Edit.

- Depending on the policing mode you chose on the LAN Ports tab (step 1), you will have various fields available.
- If you chose bySomeCosEnabled, you use the SharedPriority field to click the boxes from 0 to 7 to configure shared priorities.
- If you chose byGroupOfUni, you use the SharedPort field to configure the shared UNI ports.
- Click TokenBucketEnabled to enable policing.
- Enter the value you want in Mbps in the CommittedRate field.
- Enter the value you want in Mbps in the BurstRate field.
- Choose the MaxBurstDuration from the system-supplied number of milliseconds in the pull-down menu.
- Click Apply.
