USM tab fields


Field Description
EngineID
Indicates the SNMP engine's administratively-unique Identifier.
Name
Indicates the name of the user in usmUser.
SecurityName
Creates the name used as an index to the table. The range is 1 to 32 characters.
AuthProtocol
Identifies the Authentication protocol used.
PrivProtocol
Identifies the privacy protocol used.
StorageType
Identifies the storage type used.

  1. Click Insert.
  2. The USM, Insert USM Table dialog box opens.
  3. Enter a name.
  4. In the CloneFromUser field, select a user name from which the new entry copies authentication data and privacy data.
  5. Select an authentication protocol.
  6. Enter the cloned user's authentication password.
  7. Enter a new user's authentication password for this user
  8. Select a privacy protocol.
  9. Enter the cloned user's privacy password.
  10. Enter a new user's privacy password for this user.
  11. Choose either volatile or nonVolatile storage type.
  12. Click Insert.
  13. The USM dialog opens. The new user is shown in the list.
