Introduction

Welcome to the Java Device manager (JDM) help system for the 8661 SSL Acceleration Module (SAM). This help system describes how to view SAM information and statistics in Device Manager.


Note Note: This version of Device Manager supports viewing only of the SAM. You cannot configure the SAM from Device Manager, but you can view SAM information and statistics.

The SAM works with the Web Switching module (WSM) to provide the 8600 with an SSL handshake, and to offload server encryption and decryption services. With the SAM and a WSM, the 8600 can balance the load among servers and offload their SSL functions.
