Configuring the SAM using Device Manager

Opening SAM online Help  

The following Web browsers display online Help in Device Manager. The Web browser should launch automatically when you click Help from any open dialog box.

• Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or later
• Netscape Navigator 4.7 or later
  
  

  Note: The SAM, WSM, and the 8600 Series switch have separate Device Manager Help systems. To open online Help for the SAM, you must click Help from a SAM dialog box.

  
  

To open SAM online Help:

1. Right-click the SAM.

The SAM shortcut menu opens.

2. Click Edit.

The SAM dialog box opens.

3. Click Help.

Your Web browser opens with the online Help topic for the General tab in the right-hand panel, and the SAM Help table of contents in the left-hand panel. Note: Be sure you have installed the SAM help files on your system. For information about installing Device Manager software, including online help files, see Getting Started with the Management Software, Part number 313189-B.




Note: If your Web browser does not launch, you can find the SAM Help files in the following directory: default install directory....JDM/help/accelar2K/v3xx/SAM
