This section describes using Passport Device Manager to configure the Internet Packet Exchange (IPX) protocol, the Novell Inc. adaptation of the Xerox Network System (XNS) protocol.
Implementation of IPX by the Passport 8600 Switch supports the following four Ethernet frame formats:
Frame translations from one frame format to another are supported, but the IPX host format must match the defined protocol frame format of the interface to which the host is connected.
The Passport 8600 Switch supports IPX as routed VLANs, if IPX routing is enabled on the VLAN.
