RIP Globals tab

In the Passport 1000 Series switches, the router has RIP global parameters that are used by all router interfaces using RIP. Both isolated routing ports and VLAN virtual routing interfaces use the same RIP global parameters.

Use the RIP Globals tab to configure RIP global parameters and to access other RIP management tabs.

To open the RIP tab:

From the Device Manager window menu bar, choose IP Routing > RIP.

The RIP Globals tab contains the two most important globals:

• RIP enable/disable
• RIP update timer
  
  

  Note: You can configure RIP on the interfaces with RIP globally disabled, thus having the flexibility to configure all interfaces before turning on RIP for the routing switch.
