Flushing the routing tables

For administrative and/or troubleshooting purposes, it is sometimes necessary to flush the routing tables. Device Manager enables flushing in two contexts: by VLAN and by port.

• To set flushing by VLAN:
1. To set flushing by VLAN, choose VLAN > VLANs.

The VLAN dialog box opens with the Basic tab displayed.

2. Click the Advanced tab.
3. In the VLAN Advanced tab dialog box, click the VLAN Operation Action for the selected VLAN.
4. Select the VLAN Operation Action that you want to perform.
5. Click Apply.
• To set flushing by port:
1. To set flushing by port, choose Edit > Port.

The Port dialog box opens with the Interface tab displayed.

2. In the Action field for the Port, Interface tab, select the VLAN Operation Action that you want to perform.

After a routing table is flushed, it does not automatically repopulate. The delay depends on the routing protocols in use.
