Enabling IGMP snooping

IGMP snooping works only when a multicast router that has been dynamically learned as a Querier exists in the VLAN. Even when IGMP snooping is enabled, if the VLAN does not hear a query from a multicast router, the group reports from the hosts are not processed.

To enable IGMP snooping:

  1. From the Device Manager menu bar, choose VLAN > VLANs.
    2. The VLAN dialog box opens with the Basic tab displayed.
  2. Click the Snoop tab.
    3. The Snoop tab opens.
  3. In the Snoop tab, click the Enable text box.
  4. Select true.
