Configuring an OSPF redistribution policy

You can configure a redistribute entry for OSPF to announce routes of a certain source type, for example, static, RIP, or local. You can use the route policy specified to perform detailed redistribution. If no redistribution entry is configured, no external LSA is generated for non-OSPF routes.

Note Note: Changing OSPF Redistribute contexts is a process-oriented operation that can affect system performance and network reachability while performing the procedures. Therefore, Nortel Networks recommends that if you want to change default preferences for an OSPF Redistribute context, you should do so before enabling the protocols.

To set up or edit an OSPF redistribution policy:

  1. From the Device Manager menu bar, choose IP Routing > Route Redistribution.
  2. The RouteRedistribution dialog box opens with the Route Redistribution tab displayed.
  3. Click the Route Redistribution tab.
  4. The Route Redistribution tab opens.
  5. Click Insert.
  6. The RouteRedistribution, Insert Route Redistribution dialog box opens.
  7. Click Insert.
