Displaying broadcast/multicast storm control data

You can display broadcast/multicast storm control data as follows:

  1. On the Device Manage menu bar, choose VLAN > MAC Forwarding.
  2. The MAC dialog box opens with the MAC FDB tab displayed.
  3. Click the Broadcast/Multicast Storm Control tab.
  4. The Broadcast/Multicast Storm Control tab opens.

The table that follows describes the Broadcast/Multicast Storm Control tab fields on the MAC dialog box.

Field Description
GroupIndex
The index of logical trunk ports. The trunk group number depends upon the existence of the unit and module.
BMStormthreshold
Decides how many thousand packets per second of broadcast/multicast traffic will activate storm control. It depends upon whether the BcastStromCtrl,McastStromCtrl, or DlfStromCtrl objects are enabled.
Whenever a port reaches its configured number of packets in the one second interval, the device starts dropping that type of packet, until the time interval expires. Once the time interval expires, the device starts forwarding that type of packet. The range of possible values here is from 0-255.
BcastStormCtrl
Indicates whether the broadcast storm control function is enabled or disabled
McastStormCtrl
Indicates whether the multicast storm control function is enabled or disabled.
DlfStormCtrl
Indicates whether the destination lookup fail function is enabled or disabled.
