Inserting unicast MAC addresses
You can insert unicast MAC addresses as follows:
- On the Device Manage menu bar, choose VLAN > MAC Forwarding.

- Click the Unicast MAC Addresses tab.

The following table explains the Unicast MAC Addresses tab fields on the MAC dialog box.
UnicastVlanIndex
|
The next available index value of a local VLAN entry in the VLAN unicast table.

UnicastAddress
|
The destination MAC address in a frame to which this entry's filtering information applies.

UnicastAllowedToGoTo
|
The set of ports to which a frame with a specific unicast address will be flooded in the event that it has not been learned. It also specifies the set of ports a specific unicast address may be dynamically learned on.

UnicastStatus
|
The status of the entry. Possible values include:
- other- this entry is currently in use. However, the conditions under which it will remain so differ from the following values.
- invalid- writing this value to the object removes the corresponding entry.
- static - this entry is currently in use and will remain so after the next reset of the bridge.
- deleteOnReset- this entry is currently in use and will remain so until the next reset of the bridge.
- deleteOnTimeout- this entry is currently in use and will remain so until it is aged out.

- Click Insert.

- In the UnicastVlanIndex field, select the index entry by clicking the ellipsis button.

- Highlight the desired option and then click OK.
- Enter a UnicastAddress.
- Specify the ports by clicking the UnicastAllowedToGoTo ellipsis button.

- Select the desired port and press OK. (You are allowed to select only one port here). This port will appear as being depressed, while the nonselected ports are not depressed. Port numbers that display in gray indicate ports that cannot be selected to belong to the VLAN.
- On the MAC, Insert Unicast MAC Addresss dialog box, click Insert.
