IP filters apply to all routed IP packets to be forwarded through a switch on specified ingress ports. The filters are applied to the ingress packets for specified IP addresses (either unicast or multicast), and are determined to be source, destination, or either type packets.
All packets matching the filter criteria are dropped and those not matching are forwarded.
