Overview

There are two types of MPLS-based VPNs in the Nortel Networks* Optical Ethernet Layer 2 MPLS VPN solution: P2P-VPNs and VPLS-VPNs.

• P2P-VPNs provide a point-to-point solution.
• VPLS-VPNs provide any-to-any, or multipoint-to-multipoint solution.

You can configure both types of MPLS-based VPNs using Device Manager (or the CLI).

Refer to Configuring MPLS-based VPNs for example configurations for both types of MPLS-based VPNs. The examples include configuration commands that were used to create the example topologies. The guide also provides important configuration rules and defines commonly used terms.
