Configuring OSPF interfaces

An OSPF interface, or link, is configured on an IP interface. In the OPTera Metro 8000 Services Switch, an IP interface is a single link (router port). The state information associated with the interface is obtained from the underlying lower level protocols and the routing protocol itself.

Before you can configure OSPF protocol on a router interface, you must first enable OSPF globally on the router, and assign an IP address to the interface.When you enable an OSPF interface, you designate it as one of the following types:
