Upgrading the OM 1000 ESM module software

You can use Device Manager to upgrade the software running on the OM 1000 ESM module. You upgrade the software by copying a new software image onto the load server for the OM 1000 ESM module, and then changing the information on the FileSystem dialog box to load the new image file. With software release 1.1, you can upload the binary configuration file, as well as download the diagnostics file that is associated with the device. You can also download the software if it is newer, with release 1.1.

To upgrade the software:

  1. Copy the new OM 1000 ESM module image file to the load server you are using.
  2. Note the exact path and filename for the new image file.
  3. In Device Manager, choose Edit > FileSystem.
  4. The File System dialog box opens as shown in the following example.

  5. In the TftpServer Address box, enter the IP address of the server with the images you want to work with.
  6. In the BinaryConfigFilename box, enter the name of the binary configuration file you want to work with.
  7. In the ImgFileName box, type the path and filename for the new image file.
  8. In the FwFileName(Diag) box, enter the name of the diagnostics file you want to work with.
  9. In the Action area, click the radio button for dnldConfig, dnldImg, upldConfig, dnldFw, or dnldImgIfNewer--depending on the function you are doing.
  10. Click Apply.
  11. Device Manager updates the OM 1000 ESM module with the new file and resets the module. When the module restarts, the system loads the new image file.
