Power tab items

The following table describes the Power tab items for a single unit.


Item Description
Power
The total power available to the BayStack 460-24T-PWR switch.
OperStatus
Describes the power state of the BayStack 460-24T-PWR switch:
  • on
  • off
  • faulty
Consumption
Power

The power being used by the BayStack 460-24T-PWR switch.
UsageThreshold
Sets a percentage of the total power usage of the BayStack 460-24T-PWR switch above which the system sends a trap.

Note: You must have the traps enabled using the next field, in order to receive a power usage trap.

TrapsControl
Enable

Enables or disables sending traps if the switch's power usage exceed the percentage set in the UsageThreshold field.
PowerPairs
Sets the RJ-45 pin pairs that the switch uses to send power to the ports on the switch:
  • signal
  • spare

Note: The default setting is spare. Ensure that this setting matches the setting for the power pairs on the powered devices you are using on this BayStack 460-24T-PWR switch. For more information on power pairs, refer to Using the BayStack 460-24T-PWR Switch.
PowerDetection
Method

Sets the power detection method that the switch uses to detect a request for power from a device connected to all ports on the switch:
  • 802.3af
  • 802.3af and legacy

Note: The default setting is 802.3af. Ensure that this setting matches the setting for the detection method used by the powered devices on this BayStack 460-24T-PWR switch. For more information on the power detection method, refer to Using the BayStack 460-24T-PWR Switch.
