Enabling PIM-SM globally

IGMP is required for PIM-SM. When you enable PIM-SM globally and on a particular interface, the IGMP parameters take effect.

To enable PIM-SM globally:

  1. From the Device Manager menu bar, choose IP Routing > PIM.
    2. The PIM dialog box opens with the Globals tab displayed.
  2. Click Mode: sm (sparse mode).

    Note Note: You can use static RP when SSM is enabled for groups outside the SSM range.

  3. Click Enable.
  4. Click Apply.
