Configuring FTP server load balancing

To configure FTP server load balancing:

  1. From the device view, select the Web Switching Module.
  2. The Web Switching Module is highlighted.
  3. From the Edit menu, choose WSM Card > L4 Switching > SLB.
  4. The Server Load Balance dialog box opens to the General tab. For field definitions, see SLB--General tab fields.
  5. In the Direct Access Mode field, click Enabled.

    Note Note: If you do not use DAM, enable a proxy IP address. See Configuring a proxy IP address for a port.

  6. Click Set > Apply.
  7. Direct access mode is configured for the WSM.
  8. Click the Virtual Servers tab.
  9. The Virtual Servers tab opens.
  10. Select the virtual server to configure.
  11. The virtual server number is highlighted.
  12. Click Services.
  13. The Virtual Server Services dialog box opens displaying the services for the selected server.
  14. Click Insert.
  15. The Insert Virtual Server Services dialog box opens. For field definitions, see Virtual server services fields.
  16. In the Virtual Service field, type a number (1 - 8) for the FTP service.
  17. In the Virtual Port field, type 21 for the FTP service.
  18. In the Real Group field, type the real server group number, or click Browse to choose the real server group from a selection list.
  19. In the Real Server Port field, type 21 for the FTP service.
  20. In the FTP Parsing field, click Enabled. FTP parsing must be enabled to translate the Layer 7 server address in the control field.
  21. Click Insert.
  22. FTP is added to the list of services in the Virtual Server Services dialog box.
  23. In the Services dialog box, click Apply > Close.
  24. The Services dialog box closes.
  25. In the Server Load Balance dialog box, click Apply > Close.
  26. The FTP service is configured and the Server Load Balance dialog box closes.
