Configuration prerequisites

Before you can configure NTP, you must do the following:

• Configure an IP interface on the Passport 8000 Series switch and ensure that the NTP server is reachable through this interface.
• Make sure that the Real Time Clock is present on the CPU board.

• Enabling NTP globally
• Adding an NTP server
• Assigning a NTP key
