Setting CLI passwords

If you have read/write/all access permission, you can use Device Manager to change the passwords for access to the CLI through a console or Telnet session.

The CLI dialog box allows you to specify user names and passwords for each level of access to the CLI. You can also specify the number of allowed Telnet sessions and rlogin sessions.

To set parameters for remote access to the CLI:

  1. From the menu bar, choose Edit > Security.
  2. The Security dialog box opens with the Access Policies tab displayed.
  3. Click the CLI tab.
  4. The CLI tab opens.
  5. For each access level, type a user name and password.
  6. To control remote access to the CLI, type the number of allowed Telnet sessions and rlogin sessions. To prohibit Telnet or rlogin access to the switch, specify zero (0) as the number of allowed sessions.
  7. Click Apply.
