Routing Information Protocol (RIP) overview

In a routed environment, routers communicate with one another to keep track of available routes. Routers can learn about available routes dynamically using the Routing Information Protocol (RIP). The 8000 series switch software implements standard RIP for exchanging TCP/IP route information with other routers.

For more information about the RIP protocol, see Configuring IP Routing Operations.
