Configuring bridging

The Passport 8000 Series switch is configured for bridging by default. The configuration is set for bridging between two Passport 8000 Series switches with one default VLAN. The Bridge Control Protocol (BCP) is enabled on the Passport 8683POSE Module by default.


Note Note: When the POS link is enabled after a parameter change or a chassis reset, some superfluous traffic may initially be sent out of POS ports before any LCP packets go out. This is normal.

You can also configure bridging for the Passport 8000 Series switch for connection to other POS-capable devices.
