Understanding Passport 1000 Series switch VLANs

A VLAN is a collection of ports on one or more switches that define a broadcast domain. This section describes creating a VLAN on a Passport 1000 Series switch, and includes the following:

• Creating a port-based VLAN
• Creating a source IP subnet-based VLAN
• Creating a protocol-based VLAN
• Creating a source MAC-based VLAN
