Creating a spanning tree group

To create a new spanning tree group:

  1. From the Device Manager menu bar, choose VLAN > STG.
  2. The STG dialog box opens with the spanning tree group Configuration tab displayed.
  3. From the spanning tree group Configuration tab, click Insert.
  4. The STG, Insert Configuration dialog box opens.

  5. Insert values or select options.
  6. Click Insert.

Note Note: By default, the TaggedBpduVlanId is an address calculated based on the spanning tree group ID by Device Manager. Accepting the default value calculated by Device Manager makes it much simpler to coordinate spanning tree groups across multiple switches. If you enter a custom value for this field, you must manually coordinate it across all switches.

Note Note: Nontagged ports can belong to only one spanning tree group.
