In the Boot tab, you also can assign the boot order as primary, secondary, or tertiary for the boot options. The table below describes the boot options.
flash
Each switch has internal flash memory that it uses to store its configuration and its software image.
pcmcia
The PCMCIA card provides portable configuration and software image storage. Using multiple PCMCIA cards, you can expand your booting options:
Only the Passport 1200 switch provides PCMCMIA card support.
net
Software is loaded onto a network server. Using BootP and TFTP, you can boot your switch over the network.
skip
Skips the boot options specified for this entry and goes to the next set of options in descending order. For example, tagging the primary boot as "skip" specifies that you should attempt the secondary boot options first.
The switch attempts to boot from the sources specified by trying the primary source first. If the primary source fails, it attempts to boot from the secondary source and, failing that, attempts to boot from the tertiary source.
